Karachi: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Karachi has announced the arrest of a man alleged to be an operative of India’s intelligence agency, RAW, in the Maripur area, along with the seizure of a significant cache of weapons and explosive materials.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the individual, identified as Muhammad Saleem, was detained during an intelligence-driven raid at Macchli Chowrangi on Manora Road. The authorities recovered hand grenades, a launcher, 9mm pistols, explosive materials, and documents, which included several fake service cards purportedly from various departments. Additionally, Saleem was found in possession of multiple passports and identification cards bearing different names, and documents indicating frequent travels to India via Nepal.

The SIU detailed that the arrest and evidence collected suggest that Saleem had been operating in Karachi under instructions from RAW, engaging in espionage and subversive activities. His connections across different sectors were purportedly facilitated by the use of forged identity documents.

Following his arrest, a case was registered against Saleem under terrorism-related charges. Police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full scope of his activities and to ascertain any connections with other espionage networks. The inquiry also seeks to determine how Saleem acquired such an extensive arsenal of weaponry and explosives.
