Karachi Moves Forward with Restoration and Beautification of Soldier Bazaar

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab announced that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is actively engaged in restoration and beautification efforts at the historic Soldier Bazaar. This area, which had long suffered from neglect and encroachments, is now undergoing a transformation.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the ongoing efforts aim to restore the Soldier Bazaar to its former state, addressing the adverse impacts of encroachments and deterioration. Mayor Wahab, while visiting the site with other municipal officials, emphasized the importance of municipal-level initiatives in restoring historic places and improving urban areas.

The restoration of Soldier Bazaar is part of a broader initiative by the KMC to enhance civic facilities and infrastructure across Karachi. Mayor Wahab highlighted continuing projects, including road rehabilitation to ensure smooth traffic flow and ease of travel for residents. Efforts are underway in various parts of the city, with significant attention to areas surrounding the National Stadium and National Coaching Centre, as well as the internal roads of Orangi Town.

The Mayor underscored the importance of local representatives’ involvement in overseeing development projects, ensuring quality and progress. The KMC remains committed to advancing infrastructure improvements to benefit the citizens of Karachi.
