Karachi: In a move aimed at enhancing urban infrastructure and green spaces, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced plans to establish dedicated beautification zones throughout the city. The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, who reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects across various districts.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the meeting included a briefing from Director General Technical Services, Tariq Mughal, on the status of district development projects and several other infrastructure initiatives. Mayor Wahab emphasized the need for timely completion of these projects, particularly in preparation for the forecasted strong monsoon rains. He urged that no negligence would be tolerated in essential areas such as road restoration and drainage improvement.
The Mayor noted visible progress in the city’s development initiatives, which he believes is helping to restore public confidence in the civic institutions. He directed the Engineering Department to incorporate comprehensive beautification and landscaping plans into all major projects, emphasizing the need for sustainable features and green spaces.
Mayor Wahab expressed optimism about Karachi’s transformation, attributing the positive changes to the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The meeting was attended by various officials, including Municipal Commissioner Abrar Jaffar and Financial Advisor Gulzar Abro.
