Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Announces Website Upgrade to Enhance Public Access and Services

Karachi: In a significant move to digitize and improve public services, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab announced an upgrade to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) website. The upgrade will ensure all departmental information is accessible online, including ticket purchases for local attractions like the Karachi Zoo and Safari Park.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the decision was made during a meeting chaired by Mayor Wahab, with key municipal officials including Municipal Commissioner Syed Afzal Zaidi and several department directors. The upgraded website will feature comprehensive details about all KMC departments that interact directly with the public, such as Parks, Recreation, Culture and Sports, and Municipal Services.

The mayor emphasized the importance of making KMC’s services user-friendly and accessible, reflecting a broader shift towards utilizing digital platforms to engage the public effectively. Highlights from the meeting included plans to make available various forms, challans, and tickets online, and to provide essential information such as fire station numbers and safety instructions. The website will also showcase video clips and photos of recreational spots, aiming to promote the city’s attractions both locally and globally.

Mayor Wahab further noted that in today’s era of social media, institutions must embrace digital tools to stay relevant and improve public perception. He expressed his vision for the website to serve as a global platform that presents KMC’s facilities and performances, ensuring transparency and accessibility for all citizens. Various enhancements are being finalized, with an aim to launch the updated website by the end of the month.
