Karachi: Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab toured various locations in the Central District today, initiating a project to install concrete blocks on the inner streets of Union Council 4 in New Karachi 5-D. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) Engineering Department briefed him on current infrastructure developments.
He also examined the ongoing concrete block installation in Khwaja Ajmeer Nagar and took the time to interact with locals at a tea stall, listening to their grievances and promising prompt action. To better grasp the challenges faced by residents, the mayor traveled from New Karachi to Khwaja Ajmeer Nagar by motorcycle. He stated that his objective as a public servant is to experience firsthand the difficulties faced by the residents.
The concrete block installation and roadwork in Khwaja Ajmeer Nagar will enhance transportation for local residents as these areas have been neglected for a long time. These initiatives are part of KMC’s citywide improvement plans to offer essential amenities and improve the standard of living.
Later, Mayor Wahab visited Haji Mureed Goth in Nazimabad Town where he was greeted by locals. The KMC recently completed concrete block installation in Union Council 6, Firdous Colony, considerably enhancing the locality’s roadways. While Nazimabad Town is officially responsible for Haji Mureed Goth’s development, KMC stepped in to address the community’s long-standing road issues.
Haji Mureed Goth residents thanked the mayor for the improvements and expressed appreciation for his dedication to upgrading the area. These projects reflect KMC’s ongoing commitment to enhance Karachi residents’ quality of life and secure a better future for the city.
