Karachi: Mayor of Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, commemorated the 131st birth anniversary of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, known as Madar-e-Millat or Mother of the Nation, with a tribute acknowledging her pivotal role in Pakistan’s formation. The Mayor highlighted her lifelong dedication alongside her brother, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and her significant influence as a leader and advocate for women’s rights.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Wahab detailed Fatima Jinnah’s contributions, describing her as an exemplary figure whose efforts were instrumental in the struggle for Pakistan’s independence. He recounted a historical moment on August 25, 1947, when she joined her brother at a civic reception at the KMC Building, underscoring her central role in the nation’s early political landscape.
