Karachi, Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, representing the People’s Party, launched road restoration projects in Union Committees 25 and 26 of Korangi. The initiative, involving an expenditure of 10 crore rupees, aims at transforming these roads into model avenues as part of broader efforts to enhance both central and suburban areas of the city.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Wahab articulated a vision of substantial urban development under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, emphasizing efficient urban planning and respect for legal frameworks. The projects signal a commitment to improving infrastructure and addressing long-standing civic issues, including the regulation of animal slaughter to designated areas to maintain cleanliness. The Mayor also reflected on the events of May 9, 2023, denouncing them as a dark day in Pakistan’s democratic history, and called for acknowledgment and rectification of those actions.
