Karachi Mayor Criticizes Divisive Politics and Highlights PPP’s Development Efforts

Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab delivered strong remarks against divisive politics and lauded the developmental initiatives by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) during a press conference. He criticized opposition figures for their inconsistent statements and actions, and outlined various infrastructural improvements and welfare projects undertaken by the PPP to support the city’s growth and stability.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Wahab directly responded to claims made by MQM leader Mustafa Kamal, accusing him of hypocrisy and mismanagement during his tenure. He detailed the negative impacts of the previous administrations, including increased violence and infrastructural neglect. The Mayor emphasized the PPP’s efforts in overcoming the legacy of those challenges, citing significant improvements in managing natural disasters like heavy rainfall and implementing crucial projects such as the K-IV water project and the redevelopment of essential healthcare facilities. He underscored the current administration’s commitment to public welfare and economic development, reflecting on the Sindh government’s substantial financial contributions to health institutions in Karachi.
