Karachi: Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, delivered on his pledge to reward students from government schools who excelled in the matriculation exams by presenting them with iPhones and laptops. The awards were distributed during a meeting with the students and their parents at the Mayor’s office, attended by members of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Council.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Barrister Wahab presented an iPhone to Hafiz Abdul Rafey, who achieved the first position in the matriculation exam, and awarded a laptop to Romaisa, who secured the second position. During the event, the Mayor expressed pride in the achievements of students from Karachi’s government schools, emphasizing the importance of encouraging academic excellence.
Mayor Wahab articulated his hope that these students will continue their academic pursuits with increased dedication, ultimately achieving greater success and bringing honor to their city and country. He highlighted the students as exemplars of how determination and hard work can lead to success, even with limited resources.
The Mayor also underscored the role of quality education in shaping productive members of society and expressed confidence that the students’ aspirations for higher education would be realized. He commended parents for prioritizing their children’s education despite resource constraints, noting their example as commendable for society.
