Karachi, In a significant meeting at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) head office, the new Consul General of Japan in Karachi, Mr. Hattori Masaru, along with Deputy Consul General Nakagawa Yashushi, met with Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab to discuss matters of mutual interest and potential cooperation.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Wahab highlighted the ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and Japan in various sectors, including industry and development projects. He expressed a keen interest in leveraging Japan’s technical expertise to enhance and modernize Karachi’s infrastructure. The Mayor assured full support for Japanese companies looking to invest in Karachi, citing attractive opportunities for foreign investment and government efforts to promote such investments.
The meeting emphasized the potential for strengthening bilateral relations and deepening the friendship between Pakistan and Japan. Mayor Wahab briefed the Consul General on the development projects underway in Karachi, outlining the efforts of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation to provide improved facilities to citizens. He pointed out that the local bodies are dedicated to enhancing basic infrastructure in both residential areas and industrial zones.
Wahab also mentioned the improvements made in Karachi’s communication and transportation systems, as well as the activation of sports and recreational centers. He highlighted the positive impact of ongoing development projects in the city, resulting in enhanced municipal facilities for citizens.
The Japanese Consul General, Mr. Hattori Masaru, expressed his views on the collaboration, emphasizing the importance of development in a key city like Karachi. He conveyed the Japanese government’s interest in expanding cooperation in various fields in Sindh province, including Karachi, and extended good wishes for the development of Karachi and other cities in Pakistan.
