Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab announced the initiation of one and two-year diploma programs for Certified Nursing Assistant and Nursing Aid at the City Institute of Health Sciences, housed within the Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases. The programs, sponsored by Baldia Uzma Karachi, will provide full scholarships to participants, aiming to enhance the quality of medical services in the region by training nursing staff in emergency and cardiac care.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the initiative will allow both existing nursing staff and new entrants to gain specialized training in casualty or emergency nursing, as well as cardiac nursing. This development is expected to improve the standard of medical facilities at KMC hospitals and other healthcare institutions in Karachi, offering more modern and standardized treatment options to citizens.
The KMC Institute of Health Sciences, responsible for the training, is registered with the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council and affiliated with the Sindh Nurses Examination Board. These affiliations aim to ensure the highest quality of training is imparted to the nursing staff enrolled in these programs. Furthermore, Mayor Wahab highlighted that the programs are not only significant for local healthcare improvement but also for creating employment opportunities worldwide, reflecting the global demand for skilled nursing professionals. He encouraged young students and current nurses in Karachi to apply for these programs to advance their careers and contribute significantly to healthcare.
