Karachi: In a significant step towards modernizing and enhancing police training, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon officially inaugurated the new Training Directorate at the Central Police Office in Karachi on October 2, 2024. The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including Additional IG Training, Additional IG Operations Sindh, and DIG Training, along with former senior police officer Saleem Wahidi.

According to Sindh Police, the establishment of the Training Directorate marks a pivotal advancement in the training operations of the Sindh Police Department. DIG Training outlined the objectives of the new Directorate, emphasizing that it will operate under a regular board to oversee all training centers, which will adhere to standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and be systematically selected for departmental courses. A new medical policy will be implemented to ensure that only fully fit officers and personnel receive training.

The Directorate will also maintain comprehensive records of personnel who have succeeded in departmental courses and those who have participated in special courses both domestically and internationally. The curriculum at training centers is being revamped to align with modern standards, aiming to improve the quality of police training significantly.
