Karachi, In a significant move to bolster the efficiency of the Anti-Vehicles Lifting Cell (AVLC), IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon chaired a meeting focused on the reorganization and systematic reforms of the unit at the Central Police Office in Karachi.
According to Sindh Police, the meeting, which included Additional IG Karachi Imran Yaqub Minhas and other senior police officials, featured a comprehensive briefing on the planned restructuring and goals of the AVLC. IG Sindh emphasized the urgency of implementing a robust strategy to combat vehicle theft effectively. He advocated for the integration of systems between the Citizen-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and the police to enhance the registration and tracking of vehicle theft cases, ensuring quick and reliable data entry into police databases.
IG Sindh directed the creation of a centralized IT system between the Sindh Police and CPLC to streamline crime records. He also instructed AVLC officers to intensify efforts to dismantle gangs involved in vehicle lifting by leveraging effective investigative techniques and utilizing the Sindh Smart Surveillance System (S4) to improve crime response times.
