Karachi Inaugurates Jumbo Jump at Safari Park in Drive for Urban Renewal


Karachi: In a significant stride towards urban renewal, Karachi celebrated the inauguration of the Jumbo Jump recreational facility at Safari Park on Friday. Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, alongside Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad and other dignitaries, unveiled the facility which is part of a broader effort to enhance public amenities in the city.



According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Wahab detailed the multifaceted approach to developing Karachi during the inauguration. He emphasized that such initiatives reflect the city’s commitment to providing high-quality, affordable recreational options to its residents. The Jumbo Jump, a notable addition to Safari Park’s attractions, is now available to the public for 750 rupees, a substantial discount from the market rate of 2,500 rupees.



The facility, which occupies a previously unused tract of land within Safari Park, adds to an array of features including zip lines, adventure facilities, horse riding, a playland, and a safari area. The mayor highlighted the Jumbo Jump’s recognition in the Guinness World Records and its global popularity, underscoring the city’s efforts to achieve international standards in local attractions.



Addressing infrastructure concerns, Mayor Wahab responded to queries about recent damage to city roads due to rains, assuring that restoration work would commence immediately after the current rainy spell. He reiterated the allocation of 110 billion rupees in the Sindh budget for Karachi’s infrastructure development, promising diligent utilization of these funds for city improvements.



Mayor Wahab also touched on future projects, including plans for a new City Council building and a public park at the site of the former Aladin Park, aiming to replace old attractions with modern, accessible facilities. These developments are part of a broader vision to enhance every area of Karachi, with a focus on increasing recreational spaces and improving living standards through sustainable urban development.
