Karachi, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing environmental conditions during a conference held in Karachi on World Environment Day. The conference, which focused on sustainable development, brought together local and international leaders to discuss ways to address pressing environmental issues.
According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesori praised the conference’s unique approach to raising awareness about sustainable development and recognized the efforts of its organizers. The event featured notable attendees, including the Consul General of Turkey, Cemal Sangu; Dr. Syed Mehboob Hassan Nizami, Founder Chairman of the Nizami Organization; and other prominent figures.
During his address, Governor Tesori discussed broader societal challenges such as energy shortages, water scarcity, and street crime, suggesting that these could be effectively tackled through unified national efforts. He also acknowledged the past contributions of Pakistani organizations to global enterprises, such as Emirates Airlines, and highlighted the significant role of local welfare organizations in combating infectious diseases.
The conference also recognized individuals contributing to environmental efforts, with a disabled woman receiving an award for her environmental activism. The event concluded with participants engaging in informal interactions with the governor, including taking selfies.
