Karachi Development Authority Director General Inspects Civic Center Departments

Karachi, The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) is undergoing a rigorous internal review to enhance its operational efficiency, as directed by the Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani. Director General Syed Shujaat Hussain conducted thorough inspections across all departments within the Civic Center, emphasizing the need for professionalism and accountability among staff.

According to Karachi Development Authority, the Director General’s visit aimed at identifying and rectifying areas of underperformance and neglect within the authority. Hussain issued a clear warning against the presence of ghost employees and stressed the importance of consistent attendance, threatening disciplinary action for non-compliance. The inspection covered critical departments such as Planning and Urban Design, Traffic Engineering, Finance, and others, highlighting a holistic approach to organizational improvement.

DG Hussain’s approach was hands-on, as he personally checked attendance records and ordered the immediate preparation of reports on absenteeism. He expressed particular concern over the state of the KDA’s record room, instructing that it be maintained properly and that fire safety measures be fully operational.

The visit also addressed public grievances, particularly in the Land Department, where DG Hussain ordered immediate action to resolve a complaint from a citizen present during his inspection. He underscored the importance of transparency and legality in all departmental operations and mandated daily cleanliness within the Civic Center premises.

This initiative reflects KDA’s commitment to improving its service quality and operational standards, signaling a broader effort to enhance governance and public service delivery in Karachi.
