Karachi Development Authority Commits to Supporting Sindh Games


Karachi, The 18th Sindh Games, a significant event fostering sports and healthy activities in the region, received strong backing from the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), with Director General Naveed Anwar actively participating and voicing continued support for sports development. The games, which marked their return after a hiatus of six years, were highlighted by various competitions held across Karachi, including a notable presence at Karachi University for the baseball events.



According to Karachi Development Authority, DG Naveed Anwar expressed his enthusiasm for the Sindh Games, emphasizing the importance of sports in promoting healthy activities and reducing crime rates across the province. The event drew participation from over 4,000 athletes from all over Sindh, showcasing their talents and competing for top honors in a variety of sports. Anwar’s remarks underscored the alignment of KDA’s goals with the current government’s vision to continue organizing provincial-level sports events.



The games also served as a platform for recognizing young talent, with more than 4,000 participants displaying exceptional performances. In the baseball competitions, Karachi, Hyderabad, and Mirpur Khas emerged as top contenders, with Karachi taking first place in the men’s category and Hyderabad winning the women’s category. The presence of dignitaries such as Hyderabad Association President Pervez Ahmed Sheikh, Pakistan Baseball Federation Senior Vice President Engineer Mohammad Mohsin Khan, and other notable figures added to the event’s significance.



DG KDA Naveed Anwar’s commitment to sponsoring sports and his active involvement in the Sindh Games highlight the organization’s dedication to the development of sports and youth in the region. The distribution of trophies and medals to the winning teams by Anwar further demonstrated the KDA’s support for nurturing talent and promoting a culture of sportsmanship and healthy competition in Sindh.
