Karachi Deputy Mayor Reports City Well-Prepared and Stable After Recent Rains

Karachi: Following recent rainfall, Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad declared that Karachi’s preparations have successfully mitigated any adverse effects, with all underpasses cleared and storm drains functioning properly.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Deputy Mayor Murad, accompanied by key municipal and political officials, toured various parts of the city to evaluate the post-rain conditions. These areas included Hub River Road, II Chundrigar Road, Kemari, and KDA Chowrangi. During his visits, Murad noted that while some low-lying areas experienced issues, these were quickly addressed, and the city remained largely unaffected. He credited the satisfactory situation to the preemptive cleaning of drains which ensured normal flow and prevented any significant disruptions.

Murad emphasized the readiness of the waste management teams who are on high alert to handle any potential rain-related challenges, ensuring minimal inconvenience to the citizens. He also highlighted the ongoing efforts to maintain clear communication and coordination with district and town administrations to optimize the city’s rain preparedness strategies.
