Karachi Deputy Mayor Confident in City’s Preparedness for Monsoon Season

Karachi: Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad affirmed the city’s readiness to handle the challenges of the monsoon season, emphasizing the measures in place to manage rainwater and ensure public safety.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Deputy Mayor Murad, during visits to various areas affected by recent rains, highlighted the efforts of the Pakistan Peoples Party under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari. He pointed out that significant preparations had been made to prevent rainwater accumulation at critical points and that city wardens were deployed on major highways to manage rain-related emergencies.

Murad noted that teams from the Baldia Uzma Karachi, Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, and Water Corporation were on high alert to tackle the monsoon’s impact. He countered critics of the city’s monsoon preparedness, stating that the reality of the situation in Karachi was much better than portrayed by opponents. The Deputy Mayor emphasized that the PPP’s town chairmen and members were actively involved on the ground, working diligently to assist citizens during the rains.
