Karachi, During a recent session held by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, led by Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, multiple resolutions were passed, including significant changes in administrative charges and public services.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the council unanimously congratulated prominent political figures on their recent electoral successes and passed resolutions affecting local governance. Notably, the council addressed the ongoing energy crisis, condemning K Electric for increased load shedding and over-billing, particularly criticizing the impact on students during exam seasons.
The council has called on NEPRA to intervene and ensure that K Electric provides reliable and affordable power to Karachi’s residents. Additionally, resolutions were passed to lower fees for animal services during Eid-ul-Azha and to rename a children’s ward at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The meeting adjourned indefinitely after passing other miscellaneous resolutions.
