Karachi Commences Maritime Security Exercise SEA GUARD-24

Karachi, The Maritime Security Exercise SEA GUARD-24 began today in Karachi, with Vice Admiral Raja Rabnawaz, Commander Coast, attending as the Chief Guest for the opening brief.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the exercise is a collaborative effort involving various ministries, departments, and organizations connected to the maritime sector. The primary goal is to address the multifaceted challenges of the maritime sector, encompassing both traditional and non-traditional threats.

SEA GUARD-24 is designed to enhance the synergy among stakeholders while operating within their legal frameworks. A key element of this exercise is the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC), which serves as a common platform to ensure the security of Pakistan’s Maritime Zones. The exercise is set to conclude with a debrief session on the 18th of this month.

This initiative represents a significant step towards bolstering maritime security and cooperation among various entities responsible for safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime interests.
