Karachi Beach Games Conclude with Karachi Dominating Medal Tally

Karachi: Provincial Minister for Energy, Development and Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has announced the Sindh government’s ongoing efforts to promote sports across the region. He made these remarks at the closing ceremony of the Sindh Beach Games, held at the Nishan-e-Pakistan beach.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the closing ceremony was organized by the Sindh Government Sports Department. Minister Shah along with Secretary Sports Abdul Aleem Lashari awarded the general trophy to Karachi for securing the first position with 14 medals. Hyderabad and Sukkur achieved second and third positions with 4 and 3 medals respectively.

Minister Shah highlighted the Sindh government’s initiatives like the Sindh Premier League and Sindh Junior Premier League to nurture sports talent. He remarked on the impressive performance of young athletes at the Beach Games, encouraging those who did not win to continue their efforts.

The Beach Games saw participation from more than 500 players across six divisions, competing in eight sports including throwball, badminton, boxing, handball, and volleyball. Medals were awarded to players excelling in various categories.

Parliamentary Secretary Sports Saima Agha, Sports Officer South District Farid Ali, and other officials were also present at the event to support the athletes and celebrate their achievements.
