Karachi, A Pakistan Navy warship has successfully conducted a high-seas rescue operation, saving eight Iranian fishermen from a dire situation after a massive fire engulfed their boat. According to Pakistan Navy, the distress call was received from an Iranian fishing vessel, reporting an uncontrollable fire onboard, prompting an immediate response. The PNS YARMOOK, operating in close proximity to the distressed boat, rushed to the scene. Despite the significant challenges posed by the heavy fire engulfing the vessel, the navy ship’s crew managed to safely rescue all eight fishermen from the sea. Furthermore, they utilized modern firefighting equipment to control and eventually extinguish the fire on the fishing boat.

This operation is a testament to the Pakistan Navy’s readiness and capability to conduct rescue and humanitarian assistance operations in international waters. It underscores the organization’s commitment to the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), while also safeguarding national maritime frontiers. The successful rescue operation showcases the vigilance and professionalism of the Pakistan Navy in fulfilling its obligations towards maritime safety and security.

Islamabad, The Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, has initiated a proactive “Knock the Door” campaign aimed at the registration of employees and tenants across the city. This move is part of a broader effort to enhance security measures and maintain law and order within the federal capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the campaign has seen various police teams actively visiting residences to ensure the registration of tenants and domestic workers, while also addressing any concerns of the citizens. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Islamabad has already recorded data from 508 house servants out of 1,332 houses within the jurisdiction of Khanna and Bani Gala Police Stations.



The initiative’s primary goal is to mitigate potential security threats by keeping a vigilant eye on miscreants and deterring suspicious activities. It emphasizes the importance of registering tenants and domestic workers to not only monitor potential security threats but also to prevent incidents such as theft and robbery by individuals masquerading as ordinary citizens.



The police have also advised citizens to verify the identity of any individual visiting their homes for data collection, especially if they are in civilian clothing, to prevent any possible impersonation. This campaign underscores the Islamabad Capital Police’s commitment to utilizing all available resources to ensure a secure living environment for the city’s residents.
