MUMBAI, Congress leader, Kanhaiya Kumar, pointed out that the BJP-led Indian government is employing drugs as a strategy to divert the youth’s attention in India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during a press conference in Mumbai, Kanhaiya Kumar stressed the gravity of the drug situation in the country. He highlighted multiple instances where drug shipments were seized at various ports. However, he expressed concern over the significant drug consignments that might be entering the country undetected. Kumar emphasized the potential ramifications of this issue on the youth, suggesting that they are being ensnared into drug addiction, leaving them disoriented and unaware of the ongoing manipulations in their environment.
In Kumar’s first trip to Mumbai since taking charge of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Congress’s student division, he criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’ mantra. He raised questions about the Dharavi redevelopment process, asking why numerous individuals were excluded from their rightful privileges. Kumar also critiqued Modi’s initiative of launching a student app amidst the prevailing unemployment crisis. He reminded the public of Modi’s earlier commitment to generate two crore jobs annually and queried the status of the supposed 18 crore jobs over his nine-year tenure. Kumar argued against the BJP government’s evident inclination towards privatizing education and highlighted the financial strain education puts on common families. He concluded by drawing attention to the distressing rate of student suicides in India.
