Justice Ameer Muhammad Khan Sworn in at Federal Shariat Court


Islamabad, In a significant development within Pakistan’s judiciary, Mr. Justice Ameer Muhammad Khan has been administered the oath of office as Judge of the Federal Shariat Court. The ceremony, held at the Federal Shariat Court Building in Islamabad, marks the addition of a new member to the bench of the court that plays a crucial role in interpreting the country’s Islamic laws.



According to Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan, the oath was administered by the Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Honourable Judges of the Federal Shariat Court, the Deputy Attorney General for Pakistan, and other officials and officers of the court. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (SAW), reflecting the court’s foundation in Islamic tradition.



The President of Pakistan, following recommendations by the Judicial Commission and the Parliamentary Committee, has expressed contentment with Mr. Justice Ameer Muhammad Khan’s appointment. His Excellency, the President, also nominated Mr. Abdul Qayyum Lehri, Registrar of the Federal Shariat Court, to conduct the proceedings, underscoring the collaborative nature of judicial appointments.



The appointment and the ceremony underscore the ongoing efforts to strengthen the judicial system in Pakistan, particularly in the context of Shariat law.
