Justice Ameer Muhammad Khan Sworn in as Federal Shariat Court Judge


Islamabad, In a dignified ceremony held at the Federal Shariat Court Building, Islamabad, Mr. Justice Ameer Muhammad Khan was sworn in as a Judge of the Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan. The oath was administered by the Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court, Mr. Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman, marking a significant addition to the bench.



According to Press Information Department, the appointment of Mr. Justice Ameer Muhammad Khan follows the recommendations of the Judicial Commission and the Parliamentary Committee, with the President of Pakistan endorsing his nomination for a term of three years. The ceremony was conducted by Mr. Abdul Qayyum Lehri, Registrar of the Federal Shariat Court, and attended by Honourable Judges of the Federal Shariat Court, the Deputy Attorney General for Pakistan, lawyers, officers, and officials of the court. The proceedings commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (?), setting a reverent tone for the event.



This appointment is a testament to the rigorous selection process for judges in Pakistan, ensuring that only individuals with profound legal acumen and integrity are chosen to uphold the principles of Islamic law as interpreted by the Federal Shariat Court.
