Judicial Assistants Key to Enhancing Justice Access, Emphasizes Supreme Court Judge at Training Ceremony in Islamabad

Islamabad, The Supreme Court of Pakistan’s commitment to improving its justice delivery system was highlighted at the conclusion of a three-day Professional Development Course for its Support Staff. The event, held at the Federal Judicial Academy, was graced by Mr. Justice Athar Minallah, Hon’ble Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, as the Chief Guest. His remarks at the ceremony emphasized the transformative impact of training on the skills and mindset of judicial staff, underscoring their vital role in providing accessible justice to the public.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Justice Athar Minallah stressed the importance of training in honing the abilities of judicial assistants, transforming their mindset towards greater sensitivity and respect for the litigant public. He highlighted that the litigant public, as the primary stakeholder of the justice system, should be the prime focus of their efforts. The Judge’s message was clear: those employed in the justice sector, funded by taxpayer’s money, are accountable for ensuring fair and respectful treatment of those seeking justice.

The ceremony marked the culmination of a program designed to empower judicial assistants with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective justice service delivery. Justice Minallah advised the trainees to fully apply their new expertise to improve access to justice for the public. He also noted the instrumental role judicial assistants can play in facilitating this process.

The Director-General of the Academy, Mr. Hayat Ali Shah, expressed pride in the training’s completion, which saw 30 judicial assistants enhance their capabilities. He envisioned that these trained individuals would not only serve as improved human beings but also contribute to the ongoing learning cycle within the Support Court.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to the 30 participants by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, followed by a group photo, symbolizing the collective commitment to improving Pakistan’s judicial system.
