Journalist Wajahat Masood calls for unity to address challenges faced by Pakistan

Islamabad, March 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): Senior journalist Wajahat Masood has said that we will have to set priorities right to come out of the current political and economic situation. In an exclusive interview with our Radio Pakistan Lahore’s correspondent Sajjad Parvez during current affairs program Lahore Insight, he said that the political leadership will have to find a middle ground to solve the current impasse and politicians should hold dialogue in this regard.

He said that a single party cannot take the country out of the current that in the parliamentary system, five years tenure belongs to parliament, rather than Prime Minister. He said that the Prime Minister can serve only till he enjoys a majority in the House.

He said that it is a wrong impression that the current government is unconstitutional in the current situation in which the national assembly is working while two provincial governments dissolved. He said that all political parties were united for preparation and passage of the constitution 1973 and we should respect the constitution to keep the nation together.
