New Delhi: Delhi-based veteran journalist, author, and columnist Humra Quraishi has passed away in Srinagar. She was 70.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Humra Quraishi was born on April 24, 1955, and leaves behind a legacy in literature, journalism, and activism.
Humra Quraishi was widely recognized for her book “Kashmir: The Untold Story,” which explored the complexities and challenges of the region.
Her other notable works include “Views: Yours and Mine,” a compilation of her writings, “More Bad Time Tales,” “Meer: A Novel,” and “Divine Legacy: Dagars and Dhrupad.”
She co-authored “The Good, the Bad and the Ridiculous: Profiles” and “Absolute Khushwant” with the late Khushwant Singh, marking a longstanding literary collaboration. Her work also appeared in anthologies like “Chasing the Good Life: On Being Single” and “Of Mothers and Others.”
Prominent figures in the occupied territory have expressed their grief at her passing.
