Peshawar: In a significant counter-terrorism effort on July 10, 2024, Security Forces and Police in Peshawar’s Hassan Khel area engaged and neutralized three terrorists, including the high-value target Terrorist Commander Abdul Raheem, following an intense firefight.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the operation was intelligence-based, prompted by reports of the presence of Abdul Raheem, who was highly sought after by law enforcement agencies with a head money of PKR 6 million. Raheem had been involved in numerous terrorist activities and was responsible for the deaths of Captain Hussain Jehangir and Havildar Shafiq Ullah on May 26, 2024. The operation also led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition from the deceased terrorists.

Tragically, the operation saw the loss of four security personnel. Sepoy Muhammad Idrees and Sepoy Badam Gul of the Pakistan Army, along with Sub Inspector Tajmir Shah and Assistant Sub Inspector Muhammad Akram of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, were killed during the exchange.
