Srinagar, June 28, 2021 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has strongly condemned the arrest of party senior leader, Javaid Ahmad Najar and shifting him to Srinagar central jail under the draconian law, Public Safety Act. The JKML Acting Chairman, Abdul Ahad Parra in a statement issued in Srinagar said that prisoners were being released in the whole world due to spread of Covid-19 but in the occupied territory innocent people were being arrested and sent to jail to create unrest and uncertainty in the people.
He deplored the silence of the world community and human rights organizations over the prevailing situation in IIOJK and appealed to the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international human rights organizations to take concrete steps for release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails of India and the territory.
