JKML calls for protest against Amit Shah’s IIOJK visit on Oct 5

Srinagar, October 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has called for a protest against Indian Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the territory on October 5. The JKML after its meeting in Srinagar in a statement said Amit Shah is second after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the list of criminals for erasing the Muslim identity of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, perpetuating India’s military occupation and violating human rights.

It said that on 5th August 2019, IIOJK was turned into a military garrison and all the basic human, social, political and religious rights of the people of the territory were violated. It said the Indian Home Minister is visiting Kashmir to mislead the people of the disputed territory and to divide them on the basis of regionalism.

It appealed to the Kashmiri people to strongly protest against this visit and express their hatred for those who are not only involved in war crimes in IIOJK but are also responsible for jailing thousands of Kashmiris. The JKML said that after August 5, 2019, on the orders of the Indian Interior Minister, hundreds of Kashmiri youth were martyred, thousands of oppressed Kashmiris were subjected to oppression and brutality, and around two dozen women were also imprisoned in different jails.

It said that the Indian Interior Minister is coming to Kashmir to rub salt on the wounds of the people of the occupied territory. It added that the Indian Interior Minister should show courage instead of showing his rule over the disputed territory under the shadow of one million soldiers and conduct free and impartial polls in Jammu and Kashmir according to the United Nations resolutions.

The JKML said the Indian forces can never succeed in crushing the freedom spirit of the Kashmiri people through killing, brutality, implementation of black laws, detentions and economic blockades. It said that in the meeting serious concern was expressed over the deteriorating health of party chief and APHC Chairman Masarrat Alam Butt and prayers were prayed for his recovery.

Meanwhile, Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi in a statement issued in Srinagar reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the freedom struggle till settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
