JKLF Reiterates Commitment to Peaceful Resolution of Kashmir Dispute, Criticizes Election Plans in IIOJK

Islamabad: The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) remains committed to resolving the Kashmir dispute through peaceful means, stressing the importance of dialogue and criticizing the upcoming state elections in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) as ineffective. The organization has been known for its sacrifices aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Muhammad Rafiq Dar, the Chief Spokesman for JKLF, emphasized the futility of using force and delaying tactics in resolving the Kashmir issue, which have only exacerbated the suffering of the Kashmiri people. He expressed skepticism towards the proposed state elections in IIOJK, viewing them as an attempt by India to divert attention from the core issues of Kashmiri self-determination and rights.

Dar highlighted the JKLF’s historical initiatives such as the ceasefire, the Signature Campaign, Safr-e-Azadi, and active involvement in the dialogue processes led by the now-detained party Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik. These efforts, he said, demonstrate the party’s dedication to a democratic resolution of the conflict. Furthermore, Dar called for the immediate release of all Kashmiri political leaders, including Yasin Malik, to facilitate the start of a genuine dialogue process.

The spokesman also lauded the efforts of the Kashmiri diaspora, particularly the Kashmir Global Council (KGC) for its role in forming the “Kashmir Senate,” aimed at accurately representing the movement by including diverse religious and ethnic groups from Jammu and Kashmir. He urged India, Pakistan, and local political entities in IIOJK to foster a new era of trust and understanding, acknowledging the extensive human suffering experienced over the past three decades.
