JKLF leaders start hunger strike in Islamabad, AJK to express solidarity with Yasin Malik

Islamabad, July 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):In spite of heavy and continued rain, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leaders started hunger strike in Islamabad and many areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir apart from British capital London, Indian embassy in London and Indian consulate in Birmingham to express solidarity with illegally detained party chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik.

The JKLF Chairman is serving a life sentence on the order of a kangaroo court in a so-called terror funding case. The JKLF spokesman said that the party leaders have also started a hunger strike outside the European Union, while there will be a symbolic protest hunger strike outside the European Commission office in Brussels on July 23.

According to the party spokesperson, the hunger strike was started in front of the National Press Club in Islamabad under the leadership of Acting Chairman Raja Haq Nawaz Khan and Vice Chairman Saleem Haroon despite heavy rain in which several leaders and students activists of the Front including Javed Hanif, Sajid Siddiqui, Sardar Anwar Khan, Parvez Akhtar and Sufyan Ahmed and other activists and people associated with civil society participated.

In city Kotli, the spokesman said, member of Supreme Council Malik Aslam, district president Abrar Iftikhar, Ghazi Sajid Bukhari, Dr Liaqat Naqshbandi, Shahid Bashir, Basir Janjua, Asrar Bukhari, Raja Amjad, Adeel Malik, Imran Khokhar, Kabir Butt and Ishtiaq Chaudhry and many others participated in the hunger strike.

Similarly, a hunger strike was started in Lal Chowk, Muzaffarabad, under the leadership of District President Raja Asim Razzak in which many workers and youth of JKLF and students are participating.

A hunger strike will also begin, tomorrow, under the auspices of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Britain, in front of the Embassy of India in London and also in Birmingham in front of the Indian Consulate in which many party leaders and workers will participate.
