Islamabad, The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has voiced strong disapproval of the Indian Supreme Court’s recent ruling on Article 370. This reaction reflects the ongoing discontent and unrest among various groups in the region following the court’s decision.
According to Kashmir Media Service, JKLF’s chief spokesman, Muhammad Rafiq Dar, labeled the Supreme Court’s decision as unrealistic, one-sided, and anti-people. Dar criticized the judges of the Indian Supreme Court for allegedly aligning with the policies of India’s current government and participating in the denial of rights to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He accused the court of distorting historical facts and overlooking the realities of the Jammu and Kashmir situation, suggesting that the court is more inclined to protect the interests of the ruling government rather than ensuring justice and rights for the people.
Dar further asserted that the Indian Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the abrogation of Article 370, enacted on August 5, 2019, cannot be justified legally or historically, as Jammu Kashmir has never been an integral part of India, the JKLF’s perspective. This stance reflects the group’s longstanding position on the Kashmir issue.
The JKLF spokesman reiterated the organization’s commitment to continuing its peaceful struggle for the complete independence of Jammu Kashmir. He emphasized that the Supreme Court’s decision would not deter the determination of the people in the region, who, him, have made significant sacrifices for the cause of independence. This statement underlines the continued resolve and ongoing efforts for autonomy and self-determination in the region.
