Ranchi, January 13, 2023 (PPI-OT):Six Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast during an encounter with the outlawed Naxals at Tumbahaka forest in Jharkhand’s Singhbhum district. Police said the blast occurred while personnel of the CRPF, its Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA), the state police’s Jharkhand Jaguar, and the district armed police were conducting an anti-Naxal operation in the forest.
Police said when the forces approached, the extremists opened fire which prompted the forces to retaliate and the Naxals were forced to retreat triggering the blast.
