Japan Funds Medical Equipment and Facility Upgrades at Al-Wadood Hospital in Islamabad

Islamabad, The Government of Japan, under its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) Program, has funded two significant healthcare projects at Al-Wadood Hospital in Thanda Pani, Islamabad. The inauguration of these projects, which include the provision of medical equipment and improvement of hospital facilities, was led by His Excellency Mr. WADA Mitsuhiro, Ambassador of Japan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

According to Embassy of Japan in Pakistan, the Japanese government provided financial assistance totaling 88,623 USD in 2017 for medical equipment and 62,199 USD in 2021 for improving the hospital facilities. This support has enabled the hospital, managed by the non-governmental organization True Worth Foundation, to acquire essential medical facilities such as a diagnostic imaging machine, an ambulance, a generator, and an X-ray machine, among other supporting equipment.

The ceremony, attended by NGO board members and hospital management staff, marks a significant enhancement in Al-Wadood Hospital’s capacity to serve needy and deserving patients in the area. The new facilities will allow patients to receive medical testing and treatment onsite, improving accessibility and quality of healthcare services.

His Excellency Mr. WADA Mitsuhiro, during the inaugural ceremony, congratulated the NGO representatives on the successful completion of these important projects. He emphasized that investing in health is a key priority in Japan’s assistance policy towards Pakistan. The Ambassador expressed hope that the projects would provide affordable and quality treatment to patients and strengthen the friendly relations between the people of Japan and Pakistan.
