Jammu, August 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, hundreds of lawyers staged a protest outside the Governor’s House in Jammu in support of their demands, including construction of a multi-storey building for housing various tribunals and offices within the court complexes. The Jammu chapter of the High Court Bar Association organized the protest and threatened to intensify their agitation if the authorities did not pay attention towards its demands.
“We had submitted a memorandum of our demands to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha in November last year, but it seems the government has lost the papers, forcing us to abstain from work and come on the roads to highlight our issues,” HCBA, Jammu chapter President M K Bhardwaj told reporters. The lawyers, chanting slogans in support of their demands and against the lieutenant governor, came in a rally from high court complex to the protest site and later dispersed off peacefully.
Meanwhile, a group of Anganwadi workers in Aripal tehsil of Pulwama district staged a protest demonstration, demanding release of their pending wages. The aggrieved workers assembled near the block office in Aripal tehsil, and were seeking release of pending wages, arrears besides increase in their pay.
One of the Anganwadi workers, namely Naziya Akhtar said that their wages of the last 3-4 months are yet to be released, due to which they face hardships. She told the media that their families get affected in view of delay in releasing their pending wages from the last three to four months, and arrears from the last three years.
