Jammu: The All Parties United Morcha (APUM) convened an urgent meeting today, led by former Member of Parliament Sheikh Abdul Rehman, to address the political challenges and demands for the restoration of statehood and special status in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, “The meeting saw participation from various activists including I D Khajuria, Manish Sawhney, Sahid Saleem Mir, Narinder Singh Khalsa, Narinder Khajuria, Com Subash Mehta, and Sunny Kant.” The group unanimously resolved to support the Democratic Secular Alliance in upcoming elections to counteract communal forces through peaceful voting.

The resolutions of the meeting emphasized APUM’s commitment to collaborating with any government that supports their manifesto, which prioritizes the restoration of statehood with dignity and special status for the region. Additionally, APUM strongly opposed any attempts by communal forces to further divide Jammu and Kashmir, which they believe would exacerbate divisions among its diverse communities.
