JAMMU, Civil society members from Jammu have voiced their concerns, alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Indian regime has stripped away the identity and status of the people of the Indian illegally occupied region of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, these members claim that the BJP has lost the trust of the Jammu residents. They accuse the party of betraying the people of Jammu, exploiting them, and depriving them of their identity, status, basic, and political rights.
One notable point of contention highlighted by the civil society members is the repeal of the Roshni Act. This act previously legalized state land ownership for local residents, and its repeal has caused significant distress among the populace.
Furthermore, the Hindu Dogra civil society members expressed their dissatisfaction with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and his administration, labeling them as corrupt. They pointed out that the practice of granting jobs, land, and shelter to individuals from outside the region has exacerbated their challenges.
