Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Calls for Action Against Anti-Muslim Activities in India

New Delhi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has called for decisive action against increasing hate crimes and the unauthorized demolition of Muslim properties in India. The organization voiced concerns over the rising incidents of hostility and legal injustices affecting the Muslim community during a press conference held in New Delhi.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Vice Amir Professor Saleem Engineer and Central Secretary Shafi Madani highlighted that certain groups, with alleged support from political figures and law enforcement, are intensifying efforts to destabilize communal harmony through targeted attacks on Muslims. They criticized these actions as deliberate attempts to instigate unrest within the country.

Professor Saleem specifically condemned the demolition of properties owned by Muslims, labeling the act as illegal and an affront to religious minorities. He welcomed the Indian Supreme Court’s recent measures to curb these practices and expressed optimism for nationwide guidelines to prevent further illegal demolitions.

Furthermore, Shafi Madani addressed the distressing situation in Assam, where 28 Bengali-speaking Muslims have been unjustly detained as foreigners, an action he claims violates their fundamental rights and disproportionately targets Bengali Muslims. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind is demanding the immediate release of these individuals and the suspension of the tribunal’s decisions.

The organization reiterated its commitment to supporting the affected communities and called for a unified response to uphold the rights and dignity of Muslims across India.
