Jam Kamal Khan Meets Cambodian Senate Chairman to Boost Bilateral Ties

Phnom Penh: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, engaged in discussions with Hun Sen, Chairman of the Cambodian Senate, during an official visit aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and parliamentary diplomacy. The meeting underscored efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties and explore avenues for increased trade and cultural exchanges.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, Minister Khan proposed the establishment of a Cambodian Embassy in Pakistan as a step towards solidifying connections between the two countries. He briefed Chairman Hun Sen on the upcoming first session of the Joint Trade Committee (JTC), highlighting its role in deepening trade relations. The minister also extended an invitation to the Cambodian business community to participate in the next JTC session in Pakistan.

Chairman Hun Sen stressed the significance of collaboration among developing nations, advocating for mutual business opportunities. Minister Khan emphasized economic growth in the East as a fertile ground for cooperation. He announced the opening of a commercial section in Cambodia to boost trade relations and facilitate business interactions.

Furthermore, the meeting included discussions on a potential double taxation agreement, which would alleviate tax barriers and encourage bilateral investments. The discussions reflected a mutual commitment to expanding diplomatic, economic, and parliamentary cooperation for shared prosperity between Pakistan and Cambodia.
