Amritsar, November 14, 2021 (PPI-OT):Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur has written a letter to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah calling upon them to reopen the Kartarpur corridor, located in Pakistan. Jagir Kaur demanded that the corridor of Kartarpur Sahib connected with the faith of the Sangat should be opened immediately and for this initiative should be taken on the occasion of Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the Parkash Divas of the first Guru on November 19 was being celebrated by the sangats all over the world, which should be revived while bowing down. She said that the crossing which was temporarily closed during Corona but did not reopen even when conditions were favourable, hurt the faith of the Sangat.
SGPC Chief said that now life was going on as usual and flights to foreign countries were also open. Bibi Jagir Kaur said that although corona rules should be enforced for the pilgrims going to Kartarpur Sahib, but this crossing should not remain closed for long. Meanwhile, Bibi Jagir Kaur also slammed the Uttar Pradesh government for canceling the day of ‘martyrdom’ of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib and imposing Chhath Puja holiday in its place.
