ITFC to provide financing of $4.5b to import essential commodities

Islamabad, June 28, 2021 (PPI-OT): The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation will provide a financing of 4.5 billion dollars to import essential commodities such as crude oil, refined petroleum products, LNG and urea. To this effect, the ITFC signed a three-year framework agreement with the government of Pakistan in a virtual meeting today.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Economic Affairs Omar Ayub Khan said the financing help Pakistan in meeting its import requirements of oil and LNG and ease pressure on cash reserves of the country. He this agreement will further strengthen partnership between Pakistan and ITFC. CEO ITFC Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol expressed the resolve to mobilize financial resources to support Pakistan in its endeavours to achieve its economic targets through the new framework agreement.
