IT Minister Presents Digital Economy Roadmap for Future Government in Karachi


Karachi, Dr. Umar Saif, the Caretaker Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, has unveiled a comprehensive roadmap aimed at boosting Pakistan’s digital economy. This strategic plan is designed to guide the next elected government in continuing the development and expansion of the information technology sector.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Saif, during a meeting in Karachi, emphasized the potential of the IT sector as a significant revenue generator for the country. He projected that following the initiatives laid out by the caretaker government could result in the generation of billions of dollars in revenue from the digital economy.



Dr. Saif highlighted the instrumental role of the SIFC forum in supporting the upcoming elected government’s efforts to develop the country further. He credited the forum and the recent policies of the IT ministry for a record 32% increase in IT exports over the past 60 days. This surge not only signifies the sector’s robust growth but also sets a precedent for future administrations to build upon.



The roadmap presents a clear vision for harnessing the potential of digital technologies to drive economic growth, indicating the caretaker government’s commitment to laying a solid foundation for the IT sector’s future development.
