Israel Issues Travel Advisory for Citizens in India Following Blast Near Embassy in New Delhi

Karachi, In the wake of a recent explosion near its embassy in New Delhi, Israel has issued a travel advisory to its citizens in India, cautioning them against visiting crowded places and areas frequented by Westerners, Jews, and Israelis. The advisory comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of Israeli nationals in the country.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Israeli National Security Council (NSC) released the travel advisory following the blast near the Israeli embassy in the Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave on Tuesday. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported from the incident.

The NSC’s recommendations advise Israeli nationals to avoid crowded places such as malls and markets, as well as locations known for serving Westerners, Jews, and Israelis. The advisory also suggests refraining from openly displaying Israeli symbols, avoiding attendance at unsecured large-scale events, and being cautious about publicizing travel itineraries or sharing real-time photos and visit details on social media.

This advisory comes against the backdrop of the NSC’s earlier warning this month for Israelis to reconsider all travel abroad, emphasizing the need to avoid outward displays of Jewish and Israeli identities due to rising antisemitism globally. This caution is heightened by the ongoing Israeli bombardment in Gaza.

In the past, the Israeli embassy and its staff in New Delhi have been targets of attacks. In 2021, an explosion outside the embassy resulted in damaged cars but no casualties. Additionally, in February 2012, an attack on the car of the wife of an Israeli security staff member at the embassy resulted in her injury.

The issuance of this advisory reflects the heightened security concerns for Israeli citizens in India and underscores the need for vigilance and safety measures in the face of potential threats.
