ISLAMABAD: In an effort to enforce traffic regulations more stringently, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced a comprehensive crackdown on traffic rule violators in the federal capital. The initiative comes under the directive of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider, aiming to ensure stricter compliance with traffic laws.
The new measures will see immediate and severe legal consequences for offenders. Serious violations will result in the vehicles being impounded at police stations. Offenses such as driving without a license, underage driving, lane violations, one-wheeling, and overloading will attract heavy fines and legal actions.
Under the new policy, drivers operating vehicles without a valid license will face strict legal repercussions, with cases registered against them as per the law. No exceptions will be made, as emphasized by CTO Haider, who stated that anyone endangering lives through reckless driving would face stringent penalties.
The CTO has also instructed the ITP education wing to actively engage in public education initiatives, highlighting the dangers of traffic violations and the necessity of following traffic laws for personal safety.
CTO Haider urged citizens to adhere to traffic regulations, stressing that no leniency would be shown, and the law would be applied uniformly without discrimination. He underscored the importance of public cooperation in creating a safer and more organized traffic environment in Islamabad.
The ITP’s efforts are designed to encourage responsible behavior among citizens, aligning with their commitment to a safer traffic system.
