Islamabad: The Islamabad Traffic Police has officially commenced the 11th batch of its “Friends of Police” internship program, with 30 students from Iqra University participating in the initiative. The program aims to provide training on traffic laws, road safety, and various policing aspects.

Under the guidance of Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider, the students visited the Islamabad Traffic Headquarters on the first day. They received an orientation on the department’s working procedures.

The education wing of the Islamabad Traffic Police introduced the interns to different branches, such as the licensing branch, central control room, education unit, and other key departments. The students also learned about the traffic management system, digital licensing process, and the automated fine-issuing system.

Participants expressed appreciation for the technological advancements and transparency in the department’s operations. They committed to assisting in the enforcement of traffic laws, awareness campaigns, and road safety promotion.

The Chief Traffic Officer highlighted that the program will continue in phases, allowing students to visit other divisions of the Islamabad Police. This includes security, crime investigation, and community policing, providing a comprehensive view of policing operations.

This initiative represents a significant effort by the Islamabad Traffic Police to engage the younger generation with law enforcement and promote civic awareness.
