ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have intensified efforts to combat illegal parking and ensure compliance with traffic regulations across the city. Under the guidance of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, special measures are being implemented to maintain a smooth traffic flow and enhance the overall traffic system in the federal capital.
The campaign focuses on drivers who flout no-parking rules and encroach on footpaths. Special teams have been deployed to monitor and address illegal parking at shopping malls, markets, commercial centers, and major roads throughout Islamabad.
Chief Traffic Officer Capt. (retd) Hamzah Humayun has instructed all zonal Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to enforce traffic laws strictly. The directive includes taking decisive action against individuals obstructing traffic flow and violating traffic discipline.
Emphasizing the importance of designated parking areas for commercial purposes, Humayun stated that violators would face no leniency. Footpaths, intended for pedestrians, must remain clear of any parking or obstructions.
The ITP is committed to providing necessary facilities to citizens visiting commercial centers and has urged public cooperation in adhering to traffic rules. Such compliance is crucial to maintaining an organized traffic system in Islamabad.
