Islamabad to Host Major International Event on World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

Islamabad: Key international and local organizations are set to converge at the Marriott Hotel on July 30 for a significant event marking the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. The event will focus on the global fight against human trafficking, particularly child exploitation.

According to United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the collaboration involves the UNODC, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development, the International Labour Organization, the International Organization for Migration, and the Sustainable Social Development Organization, in partnership with Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency.

This year’s theme, “Leave No Child Behind in the Fight Against Human Trafficking,” underscores the critical need to address child trafficking and labor. The event at Kohinoor Hall aims to raise awareness and foster commitments from various sectors to combat this severe issue.

High-level attendees, including Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Federal Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control, along with over 100 delegates from government, law enforcement, civil society, corporate sectors, INGOs, media, and academia, are expected to participate.
